Hello, I’m Rebecca Barlow, owner of ‘Surrey Dyslexia Support’. I am a qualified primary school teacher and Level 7 qualified dyslexia assessor, based in Chiddingfold, Surrey (GU8). I currently work privately as a dyslexia assessor, assessing children aged 8-15 in Surrey and the surrounding areas. 

I began my teaching career in London and have taught across the primary age range. Working as a busy class teacher, I became aware of the difficulties some children faced with literacy, maths and retaining new information. This led me to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Structured Teaching Intervention for Dyslexia and Literacy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy. These enabled me to learn why some children have particular difficulties with reading, spelling, working memory and processing and how strategies can be applied that transform learning and increase confidence. I also have an understanding of other specific learning difficulties so I can offer advice regarding these and signpost parents to organisations where they can receive further support and information.
