Surrey Dyslexia Support offers tuition for children aged 5-11 and full diagnostic assessments for 7-15 year olds. Surrey Dyslexia Support was founded by Rebecca Crocker, a specialist Level 7 qualified dyslexia teacher and assessor based in Chiddingfold, Surrey (GU8).
Rebecca Crocker began her teaching career in London and has taught across the primary age range in both London and Surrey. Working as a busy mainstream class teacher, she became aware of the difficulties some children faced with literacy, maths and retaining new information. This led Rebecca to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Structured Teaching Intervention for Dyslexia and Literacy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy. These enabled her to learn why some children have particular difficulties with reading, spelling and working memory and how strategies can be applied which transform learning and increase confidence. Rebecca is also knowledgeable regarding mathematical difficulties experienced by children with dyslexia and can offer support in this area.
