Background

Hello, I’m Rebecca Barlow, an experienced Level 7 specialist dyslexia assessor based in Chiddingfold, Surrey. I assess children aged 8–18 across Surrey and the surrounding areas.

I hold a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) with The Dyslexia Guild, ensuring my assessments meet recognised professional standards.

My interest in supporting children with literacy difficulties began while working as a primary school teacher, where I saw first-hand how frustrating learning challenges can be for children who are bright and capable but struggling to access the curriculum. This experience inspired me to undertake postgraduate specialist training with Dyslexia Action, qualifying as both a specialist dyslexia teacher and assessor.

I founded Surrey Dyslexia Support in 2015 with the clear goal: to help children with learning differences understand how they learn best and develop the confidence to reach their full potential.

Through detailed assessments and clear recommendations, I support children to improve their self-esteem and gain practical strategies that help them succeed both at school and beyond.
