January 2021 update
Surrey Dyslexia Support is temporarily closed until September 2021. Please make contact during the school summer holidays onwards to enquire about booking an assessment.
Surrey Dyslexia Support offers full diagnostic assessments for 7-11 year olds. Surrey Dyslexia Support was founded by Rebecca Barlow, a specialist Level 7 qualified dyslexia teacher and assessor based in Chiddingfold, Surrey (GU8).
Rebecca Barlow began her teaching career in London and has taught across the primary age range in both London and Surrey. Working as a busy class teacher, she became aware of the difficulties some children faced with literacy, maths and retaining new information. This led Rebecca to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Structured Teaching Intervention for Dyslexia and Literacy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy. These enabled her to learn why some children have particular difficulties with reading, spelling and working memory and how strategies can be applied which transform learning and increase confidence. Rebecca is also knowledgeable regarding mathematical difficulties experienced by children with dyslexia and can offer support in this area.
